Slacking...

Sorry all, I've been slacking on my blog a little... Partly because I've worked the last two Saturdays, partly because I can't remember what day it is lately, and mostly because I just forgot.

Working part-time with variable days means that sometimes I think Wednesday is Saturday, and Saturdays sometimes feel like Mondays. Add another part-time job and the only thing that gets me to work where and when I need to be is Google Calendar's reminders feature. Syncing that across all my devices is a snap, thanks to the CalanGoo App (auto sync upon open? Yes, Please!!) Hmm. Maybe I should put in a reminder to Blog?

I absolutely love my new job at the hospital. The people I work with are terrific, and I don't come home exhausted, sore, and barely able to move. The boys love it, I'm cooking more dinners at home and I have more time with them.

The other job is mornings only, so I have all but two afternoons a week with my boys, yay!! Loving all the family time.

Friday evening one of the aides showed me how to find out what shifts are available and pick them up. It's all computer based, and even though I've stayed with the same company my previous location didn't do scheduling this way. I'm loving it, it's so much easier to pick up hours! I requested to work some day shifts, I'd rather pick up hours there, it pays almost twice as much as the other job for me. It's easy enough, now I just need to let my other employer know I will be unavailable those days.

Books:
I read "The Hangman's Daughter" whose author I cannot recall. It was an excellent book, an interesting study of society and life in the mid-1600's Bavaria. Mystery, romance, witch-hunting, murder and mayhem all rolled up with historical facts into a well-written story. I highly recommend it! I borrowed mine from Amazon's Kindle owner's lending library (part of Amazon Prime service, but you have to own a Kindle to use it, not just the Kindle app).

I finished another one too, but I can't remember what. Still reading Anna Kerinina, and I've started reading a biography, Nikola Tesla, Robert Ludlum's Chancellor Manuscript, and I'm partway through The Hidden Face of Shyness, which is about social anxiety disorders.

Oh yes, the other one I finished was Dan Brown's new one, Inferno, also an excellent read with lots of twists and turns. Loaned that one to dad, I think RJ wants to read it too but he's reading Les Miserables right now (That book is a brick!!! It's about 3" thick with very small print. He's about 2/3rds through now).
