My first finished stash-buster knit project started & finished this year! This is a lace cowl made from Handspun silk/cashmere that has been in my stash a few years. I still have enough to make a second cowl or a pair of mitts, and more of the fiber to spin too. It's incredibly soft & slippery, love the feel of it! I had thought it was camel/silk but when I looked at my spinning fibers found I was wrong, that's a more yellow-tan than this (and I haven't spun any of that yet).
On the needles now is a hat for RJ (not a stash buster) and a vine lace scarf (stash buster of Merino/silk)

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! I finished out the last year with a photo shoot followed by an evening out at a movie and dinner with my family (mom, dad, and my boys). Can't get much better than that! One last job and an evening of fun sounds perfect to me, except for the head cold I've been battling, that is. My New Year's resolution is to knit from my stash... and hopefully make my way through quite a bit of it! We'll see how that goes, the boys are a bit skeptical.
We have begun the new year quietly, with a day to sleep in and relax at home. Waffles for brunch and Smash Lab/Mythbusters episodes all day.... And photo editing for me to get the year-end shoot up into a gallery for ordering.
Right before Christmas RJ received his acceptance letter from Michigan State University, yay!! Nate promptly announced he would not be a Spartan, he was going to be a Wolverine! Perhaps now that he has a goal he will remember to turn in his homework ;)
The new college semester starts on the 9th, and I was able to trade one of my classes for one on a Tuesday, so RJ and I will be at school on the same days again and he will not have to drive himself on the icy roads this winter. I am much happier with that (and so is he) so I'm very glad it worked out in the end.
