I can't believe it's September already! My boys turned 19 & 21 (!!) at the end of summer. I share a birthday with my oldest son, making me 21 too... Just kidding, I just turned 43. Yup. That's right. I earned those years and I'm going to claim every one of them!
We went on vacation in August, this time opting to stay in Michigan's lower peninsula, spending a week camping just outside of Frankfort, MI. If you're looking for a nice, reasonably priced place to camp in the area, I highly recommend

Back into the dating world...
After a few long discussions and soul-searching by both involved parties, I am back in the dating world by mutual decision. I need someone that's emotionally available and it's become very evident that he's not at this time. I hold no ill feelings towards him, he has been my best friend for the last year and I will miss that friendship.
Regrets are not my style, and I have none over any part of this relationship (well, maybe over timing). He's been really very good for me. I know that seems odd, but honestly it's the truth.

Changes & Updates
There are some changes looming on the horizon for me. So far I think they're all positive changes! Some need some more time to develop before I share them, but I can share that I have a new job! I'll still be working for the same company and in the same capacity, just my hours and location are changing. Instead of working as a secretary on an general med/surg unit, I will be a secretary in the medical ICU.

Makeover
I went to Sephora today for a makeover. Basically, I have no idea what basics I need, really. What colors for foundation, blush & lipstick... I'm good with eye makeup, but that's honestly as far as I'm comfortable with makeup or skincare in general.
I'm always a bit nervous giving people free reign with my makeup, which is silly when I'll let my hairdresser cut & color my hair however she wants. Makeup is much less permanent than hair colors/styles!
Anyway, I said I prefer a natural look, and that I'm not looking to be "perfect." Since I'm really clueless about what I want (aside from easy to do) I wasn't much help. On the other hand, I also think it's easier for them since I was open to ideas.
This is the end result. Gotta say I'm loving it!! Natural, understated, and relatively easy. Not my 5-min eyeliner & mascara then run out the door, but reasonable.
If you're looking for a makeover and want to learn application techniques, I recommend Sephora :) I love that they're not pushy about sales, and I came home with several samples of the skin care products used. Thanks Janna for a wonderful experience!
