Centralized Orientations

I have changed jobs and physical locations within the company I work for which meant I got to go to centralized orientation not just for my new job but also to the system and entity.

The first day was system orientation, which taught us all about the company as a whole and showed everyone how far-reaching they are. The bus tour for me was different than for some, as we went from location to location I counted people I knew that worked at each one. There was only one location I didn't know someone at!

The next day was entity orientation, which is still a large part of the organization as a whole. This one involved a walking tour of (part of each) 6 buildings. They're all connected, and just a small part of the actual total entity as they define it.

After that I started my job-specific central orientation, which involved policies that are directly related to my job (such as the dress code), software introduction and practice, and job scope. I then made it to the floor for a little bit and did a short unit-specific orientation, met several people I will be working with, and had a tour of the unit and important places there (you know: stock room, break room, bathroom, staff elevator, time clock, boss's office).

Soon I start orientation to my actual job on the unit. Looking forward to that!
