Updates...

Nate turns 18 in two days. I can't believe my baby will be 18!! The only thing more unbelievable is that in 15 days RJ will be 20 and a Junior in college... Where did the time go?

As a kickoff to this monumental month, we went on vacation to the UP. Six days camped outside of Manistique Michigan, at Indian Lake State Park. We had a wonderful time, with day trips to some of our favorite places and evenings around the campfire together.
The nice parts about camping with older kids? When I got tired while driving, I had RJ drive, I could go to bed and count on them to take care of the campfire before they went to bed for the night, and there was NO grumbling about anything :)

We spent our first full day wandering the shores of Manistique and looking for Thompson Fish Hatchery, which we never managed to find. Tonka toaster pizzas and roasted marshmallows completed our day.

The next day we decided on Kitchi-Ti-Kipi (Big Springs) and ice cream. After that we went to Fayette Historical Village Site, where we wandered a little and spent a while on the shoreline. RJ skipped stones since they have a beach FULL of flat rocks. Nate found a couple nice flat boulders that pretty much formed a recliner and hung out there playing games. I got to spend some time taking photos and hanging out with my boys. All in all, a pretty much perfect day for us.
